Procrastination is a real bitch, and a tricky word to spell. I put off doing my laundry this week to the point that I was opening new packages of underwear just to avoid the whole inside-outside-frontside-backside scenario that every boy scout has experienced.
So I'm finally with no excuse to put the laundry off any longer. I'd love to start exercising again but [insert excuse here] and my leg is still numb from my intense yoga experience back in FEBRUARY. So two months, feeling marginally better every week but I still got a stupid limp and my legs fatigue real easily. Sometimes I actually need my handicapped pass after all. Aside from putting on 10 pounds this past month, the handicapped parking has made this whole thing worth it.
So I had a revelation while doing my laundry. I may be wrong on this, but I'm guessing that most people who do their own laundry properly will usually separate the whites from the colors and will make sure nothing is turned inside-out.
Well... why not inside out? It's my feet and my unmentionables that get my socks and underwear dirty, not my shoes or my pants. Why not wash the clothing parts exposed to the grosser parts of ourselves that not even we want to smell? I mean, you're going to turn them right side out anyway, but I think you'll get a better clean on gym clothes, undershirts and other things that come in direct contact with your skin by washing them inside out. Jeans, shirts and other things I would leave turned out as normal since it's your environment and not you as much soiling those clothes.
Why I thought about it enough to blog it? Well, it's Saturday and apparently I have nothing to do to the point that I can't put it off any longer.

Don't worry, I've probably gained 10lbs in the last month too. Unfortunately for you, I'm growin' a baby, and you ain't! As for the laundry. I ALWAYS wash my clothes inside-out for that exact reason. I get dry skin on the inside of my pants, and it saves the color supposedly if you wash them inside out. I totally agree with wanting the inside of your underwear being cleaner than the outside. It only makes sense. I'm so glad we think alike.
